Dr. Galindo is an Associate Professor of Pathology, with joint appointments in Molecular Biology and Pediatrics. He received his MD/PhD degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW), trained in Anatomic Pathology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Pediatric Pathology at UTSW. He conducted his postdoctoral research in the lab of Eric Olson, a premier muscle biologist. In 2006, he was awarded a Burroughs Wellcome Career Development Award, and joined the faculty of UTSW in 2007. His laboratory has been and still is dedicated to deciphering the molecular underpinning of childhood sarcomas, with a particular emphasis on rhabdomyosarcoma. In addition to his research program, he accepted the administrative position of Associate Dean for Medical Student Research at UTSW in 2012, which is an NIH-funded program and aims to train the next generation of physician-scientists.
