Hyung J. Chun, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine.  He received his AB degree in biochemical sciences from Harvard College, and his MD degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.  He pursued internal medicine and cardiology fellowship training at the Stanford University School of Medicine, and has been on the faculty at Yale since 2009.  His laboratory studies the biological processes involved in cardiovascular development and disease such as pulmonary arterial hypertension and atherosclerosis, using a combination of animal models, human patient samples, and in vitro techniques.  His studies have identified molecular signaling pathways directed by peptide ligands, transcriptional machineries, and epigenetic elements that dictate cellular behavior in health and disease.  He has received numerous awards, including the HHMI Physician Scientist Early Career Award and the AHA Established Investigator Award.
