Dr. Nicolls is Chief of the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine at Stanford University Medical Center. His research centers primarily on lung transplantation and pulmonary hypertension and evaluates how immune injury to the pulmonary circulation contributes to disease pathogenesis. In his experimental and clinical studies in lung transplantation, Dr. Nicolls and his team are studying how vascular inflammation contributes to the pathophysiology of several conditions including lung transplantation, pulmonary hypertension and lymphedema.
