Dr. Sandeep Dave directs the Molecular Genetics and Genomics Program at the Duke Cancer Institute. His laboratory at the Duke Institute for Genome Sciences and Policy is focused on the application of genomics as a tool for the discovery of new predictive markers and treatments in leukemias and lymphomas.

His work has identified new aspects of tumor biology, including a role for the tumor microenvironment (Dave et al., NEJM 2004), the use of genomics as a diagnostic tool (Dave et al., NEJM 2006), and novel genetic and epigenetic regulators in cancer (e.g., Jima et al., Blood 2010, and Love et al., Nat Genet 2012).

Dr. Dave completed medical school and business school at Northwestern University and clinical and postdoctoral training at the National Cancer Institute. He is a winner of several teaching and research awards, including the American Cancer Society Research Scholar Award and the Clinical Scientist Development Award from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. His work has been published in Science, Nature, and the New England Journal of Medicine.
