Dr. Stamatoyannopoulos' lab has pioneered high-resolution, genome-scale mapping and analysis of transcriptional regulatory regions using a variety of novel technologies. His current focus is on detailed structural mapping of protein-DNA contacts within human regulatory regions genome wide, and on identification of functional non-coding polymorphisms that modulate quantitative traits and disease susceptibility. His lab also studies the relationship between chromatin structure, mutation, and evolutionary selection.
