The ASCI Young Investigator Awards

The ASCI Young Investigator Awards program offers one-year grants of $70,000 each to up to five early-career physician-scientists. These Awards are aimed at applicants whose first-time K08 or R01 submissions to the National Institutes of Health were very close to the payline but not funded. The goal of the program is to keep promising young researchers in the academic-medicine pipeline by supporting their work for eventual resubmission to the NIH.

The Awards program, which first provided funding in 2007, is reauthorized by the ASCI Council on an annual basis. The 2008 cycle is closed. Information about the 2009 cycle, should the program be reauthorized, will be made available here.
